Suggested Activities:
* During Reading
As you read the story and stop to ask questions you could create a booklet to keep track of all the emotions and colors. This will help the children remember and have something physical they can turn to if needed.
*After Reading (Year Around Activity)
After introducing the story and reading it to the children. You can have a jar and colored coins, clips, anything; have the children place it in the jar as they come in the room. this will tell you how they are all feeling and if you need to talk to some of them about their emotions.
* As a class/individual Worksheet
You can create a sheet that pairs different scenarios (speech Bubbles) to the illustration (Monster). Below is an example of a simple one.
This is a great book as is it aid children understand and make a connection between their feelings and color. This book is amazing for the younger children as they are developing their emotions and need some guidance to understand what they are going through.
